The objective of this study guide and the accompanying video is to educate members of the perioperative team about the importance of psychosocial factors that influence occupational safety.

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

• State the importance of a healthy psychosocial work environment
• List the components crucial for establishing a culture of safety, a culture of communication, a just culture, and a learning centered culture in perioperative practice
• Identify types of potentially unhealthy interpersonal relationships that may occur in the workplace
• Define four potential conflict management strategies that may aid in resolving difficult situations in the workplace
