This video presents the procedure which shows the mode of sequential anastomosis-resection below the diaphragm, including a) sequential ileotransversostomy and right hemicolectomy, while temporary bowel continuity is maintained at both ends; b) sequential colocolostomy and sigmoid resection for volvulus, while temporary bowel continuity is maintained at both ends; c) sequential colorectal anastomosis and rectosigmoid colectomy with the specimen transected opposite the anastomosis and left in temporary continuity at the anastomosis (this technique is especially helpful in narrow and crowded anatomical areas, such as the pelvis); and, d) sequential anastomosis resection in distal gastrectomy and Billroth II reconstruction (R. Welter).
