Intestinal ischemia, as manifested in either acute or chronic conditions, is unusual. This videotape describes the technique for Fogarty embolectomy in acute mesenteric artery ischemia and also describes in detail the use of a saphenous vein bypass graft for chronic ischemia. The chronic ischemia bpyass graft using the saphenous vein from the aorta to the celiac axis or superior mesenteric artery is a preferable procedure.
