A radiation-induced recurrent MFH invading the upper sternum and aortic arch was resected from a 28 year old man, using cardiopulmonary bypass and hypothermic arrest. The aorta was reconstructed and the sternal defect then closed with a latissimus dorsi mycutaneous flap. The patient is in excellent health without recurrent tumor eight months later.
