This video shows angiographic studies with accompanying drawings illustrating the preoperative and postoperative angiographic appearance of a patient with Marfan syndrome complicated by a chronic dissecting aneurysm of the aortic root which extends throughout the transverse aortic arch associated with aortic valve insufficiency. The disease is completely limited to this segment of the aorta, and the tape demonstrates the current technique of operative correction of this abnormality. The presentation is completed by showing postoperative angiograms with an accompanying drawing that shows the grafts and artificial valve in place and functioning.
