The management of centrally located renal carcinoma in a solitary kidney is problematic. Ex vivo bench surgery remains an optimal approach, but identification of vascular structures during nonperfusion can be difficult; substantial bleeding after reanastomosis may occur. Successful use of ultrasonic probe dissection greatly facilitates such a procedure and will be demonstrated in conjunction with bench surgery and renal autotransplantation.
