Phonomicrosurgery is the most common reason to perform endolaryngeal surgery and it is a dynamically evolving sub-specialty with a rich heritage and an exciting future. Because of the vigorous motor function of the larynx, a majority of vocal-fold pathology is the result of vocal overuse and abuse. As in all forms of trauma management, surgery should prevail as a mainstay of treatment. This video demonstrates the specialized equipment necessary to perform this precise operation, diagnostic evaluation and treatment of a patient with vocal-fold abnormalities.
