Resection of such large ovarian tumors requires preoperative collaboration between Gynecologic Oncology, Reconstructive Surgery, Anesthesia and Psychiatry. With a 30% chance of malignant findings, these tumors should be removed intact, whenever possible. A low, elliptical transverse incision from iliac crest to iliac crest best preserves abdominal wall anatomy and function.
