There has been a tendency to consider eTEP repair for inguinal hernias as a procedure for complex cases. However, we believe it can be used for the everyday case because ,among other advantages, it facilitates observance of the steps of the CV of the MPO. The TEP expert who can make an extensive dissection with his or her technique may not find it necessary. We , as well others, who used TEP for years have found eTEP a rewarding alternative for the routine as well as the complex case. We present an eTEP repair of a left inguinal hernia using one of the two most often used port distributions: initial incision in the upper quadrant on the same side of the hernia.
