The recurrence of inguinal hernias following repair is common. This video demonstrates the posterior approach and repair of a recurrent (direct) inguinal hernia. The use of an inlay prosthetic mesh buttress to protect the repair is shown. Using this technique, the author has a recurrence rate of less than two percent.
