This videotape presents a total pericystectomy for a hydatid liver cyst located in the lateral segments and a sub-total pericystectomy for a huge intrahepatic cyst. Intraoperative ultrasonography engineered the surgery. The author stresses a more radical approach to prevent complications frequently observed following conservative surgery and related to the residual cavity and the pericystic membrane.
