This video illustrates the technique of transmediastinal laparoscopic esophagectomy for end-stage achalasia. It illustrates the necessary room setup, port placement and operative technique for this advanced laparoscopic procedure. Particular attention is geven to the creation of a narrow gastric conduit for improved function in this, mostly young, patient population.
