Advanced VATS and laparoscopic techniques for esophagogastrectomy are being performed to decrease postoperative discomfort, shorten hospital stay, and decrease morbidity. Gastric mobilization, pyloroplasty, and esophageal resection can be performed by video-assisted techniques. This video also shows a mediastinoscopic resection of the esophagus for Barrett's disease and reconstruction with colonic interposition.
