Temporary abdominal closure is sometimes mandatory in critical cases of abdominal compartment syndrome, massive sepsis, or when abdominal re-exploration is planned. Many commercial temporary closure devices have been described and are currently used, each one having its advantages and disadvantages. We present a video that was designed to teach temporary abdominal closure using 3: plastic bags. The technique is reviewed in four easy-to-remember steps and its indications and advantages are presented. Our video emphasizes on the fact that this method is simple, safe, efficient and inexpensive. It provides a stepwise presentation of the technique making it a great education too. Temporary abdominal closure with this technique offers many advantages. Since this method is easy and does not require particular material it could be done anywhere, at anytime and by the surgeon.
