The operation started through a subcostal incision. The aspect of the tumor was shown. Dissection of hepatoduodenal ligament was performed, and the hepatic and portal branches to the segment I were severed between ligatures. Segment I was mobilized from the V. cava surface and three posterior hepatic veins were ligated and transected. The complete posterior surface of segment I was dissected and after the liver parenchyma was divided from segments II/III/IV and V. The operation finalized with the demonstration of liver parenchyma and aspect of the tumor. The second case shows an hemangioma on segment I. The steps are the same than described in the first case but the technical differences due to the characteristics of the hamangioma and its length were described.
