Acute malignant left colon obstruction is a surgical emergency. This video will demonstrate an alternative technique of emergency endoscopic stent decompression and elective laparoscopically-assisted sigmoid colectomy for palliation of obstructing and metastatic colon cancer. The video will include slides of the patient history, exam, and radiographic work-up. The video will be composed of 2 parts - the colonoscopic stent placement and the laparoscopic colon resection.
