We have successfully performed thoracoscopic thymectomy since 1996 in 11 consecutive children, ranging from 18 months to 16 years, with minimal morbidity and no conversion to open technique. This approach offers an effective but cosmetically more acceptable outcome, with shorter recovery period and less costly alternative to standard trans-sternal thymectomy.
