Most operating rooms in use today were not designed to accommodate the needs of the minimally invasive surgical team. We discuss 10 design features which are essential in the creation of a state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery suite. Our implementation these features in a recently constructed operating room is demonstrated and discussed.
