The simplicity and economy of dissection offered by the transthoracic stapled uncut gastroplasty was especially adapted to the video-assisted approach. Through four portals, the various steps of thoracoscopic dissection, endo-stapling, and endostitching are illustrated by improved technique on patients and explained by drawings. Two- to three-year follow-up studies are presented.
