Gaucher's disease, a ?-glucocerebrosidase deficiency, commonly leads to hypersplenism. Although enzyme therapy exists for the treatment of this disorder, significant hypersplenism leading to anemia and thrombocytopenia is often present prior to making the diagnosis. We present a case of Gaucher's related anemia and thrombocytopenia treated with partial splenectomy. We cover the history, physical, diagnostic and preoperative imaging studies, operative technique, and postoperative evaluation of the splenic remnant.
