Partial splenectomy should be the solution of postsplenectomy sepsis. However, being technically difficult, the attempts frequently result in total splenectomy. This video describes three techniques of splenic salvage: 1. Resection with a linear stapling device especially indicated for trauma of a pole. 2. The manual technique indicated for lacerations on the convex surface. 3. An absorbable net for the multiply injured spleen. So far, all ten attempts of splenic salvage have been successful.
