This video depicts the technique of complete laparoscopic splenectomy. The procedure is performed on a 16 year old female suffering from thrombocytopenic purpura. Laparoscopic dissection and ligation of the suprapancreatic splenic artery through the lesser sac are demonstrated. Laparoscopic techniques of hilar vessel ligation and short gastric vessel ligation are shown. Organ morcellation and removal are demonstrated.
