Today's world clinical experience with right latissimus dorsi dynamic cardiomyoplasty is concentrated at Allegheny General Hospital. Eight patients operated upon since March 1991 demonstrate greater initial functional improvement than patients undergoing the left-sided procedure. Clinical application of fundamentals for this surgical technique, developed in the research laboratory, is presented.
