At our institution, thoracoscopic operations for benign esophageal disease have proven successful in reducing postoperative pain and length of hospitalization. In this video presentation, an esophageal myotomy and protective anti-reflux procedure is demonstrated. The operative technique differs only in the instrumentation and method of access used from that of open esophageal myotomy.
