Total esophagectomy with reconstruction performed through a left neck-left thoracoabdominal single position approach has several advantages. It permits a single operative position while providing excellent exposure at all levels and facilitates creation of the extrathoracic anastomosis. This approach allows a safe esophageal resection with acceptable low morbidity and mortality.
