Immediate postmastectomy breast reconstruction has been shown to be safe and advantageous; however, the reconstruction of a soft, natural-appearing breast with a well-defined inframammary crease is often difficult to achieve. This videotape demonstrates an improved tissue expansion technique which allows for: 1) a 50 to 100% increase in the rate of expansion; and, 2) preferential expansion of the inferior portion of the breast, creating a more natural appearance.
