The different operating procedures of Hirschsprung's disease are connected with the names of four pediatric surgeons: Swenson, Rehbein, Duhamel, and Soave. All four techniques yield good results. Rehbein used the intrabdominal resection technique for the first time in 1953. This technique is demonstrated in a 10-week-old male infant with the typical findings of Hirschsprung's disease.
