Standard recommendations for diffuse colonic polyposis are either subtotal colectomy with ileoproctostomy or the addition of a mucosal proctectomy with the construction of an ileoanal anastomosis. This video illustrates five different clinical situations of familial adenomatous polyposis which required a different therapeutic recommendation. The discussion provides the elements of judgement necessary for their selection.
