Early reports of video-assisted and endoscopic neck surgery have demonstrated equal cure rates with superior cosmesis and less pain when compared to conventional neck surgery. In addition, and endoscopic approach offers high magnification of cervical anatomy including the recurrent laryngeal nerve, parathyroid glands, and the external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve, a fact that may ultimately lead to less morbidity.
