In 25 years 683 patients were operated. In the last 3 years in 130 cases the quick PTH assay was used to improve surgical results. We obtained satisfactory results without any false positive when the cut-off for PTH drop was up to 70% from the initial value. The use of intraoperative PTH increased the success rate of the operation from 93.8% to 96.2%.
