Four laparoscopic adrenalectomies were performed for pheochromocytoma and Conn's syndrome. A lateral position and transperitoneal approach were used. Data on length of stay, operative time, and estimated blood loss were collected. Comparison with nine open adrenalectomies was made. Initial results suggest laparoscopic adrenalectomy is safe and effective with minimal blood loss and decreased length of stay.
