A technique for removal of the whole thyroid gland en bloc, with safe preservation of the laryngeal nerves and parathyroid glands, is described. The recurrent laryngeal nerve, the superior laryngeal nerve and both parathyroid glands are clearly visualized on both sides, and the technique for their preservation is illustrated in detail.
