This videotape will demonstrate how to successfully perform the ileal-pouch-anal anastomosis using a double-stapled anastomotic technique with preservation of the anal transition zone. Additionally, tactics to achieve mesenteric lengthening of the ileal mesentery and preservation of sympathetic nerves during the procedure will be illustrated.
