This videotape depicts the use of a biofragmentable anastomosing ring as a viable alternative to hand sewn or stapling devices. The technique is demonstrated in several patients undergoing surgery for diverticulitis in a step-by-step fashion. The use of an inserter and purse string device is also illustrated.
