Anorectal malformations represent a wide spectrum of defects. In males the most common defect is imperforate anus with rectourethral fistula. The repair involves a precise posterior sagittal midline dissection, preservation of the sphincter complet, meticulous dissection of the distal rectum from the urethra and placement of the rectum within the sphincter mechanism.
