Rectal prolapse can be treated by a variety of abdominal or perineal procedures. This video illustrates the Delorme's procedure for full-thickness rectal prolapse. This procedure is ideal for elderly or debilitated patients who are not judged candidates for intraabdominal procedures and can be performed under local or regional anesthesia. It can also be performed for mucosal prolapse or intimal intussusception.
