Enterocele is a hernia containing small intestine, omentum or sigmoid colon situated in a deep and widened cul-de-sac between the vagina and rectum. It is a cause of pelvic floor outlet obstruction which is correctable. Selection of an appropriate operative candidate is aided by dynamic proctography. Using an abdominal approach, our preferred technique to correct this problem is simple suture rectopexy and colpopexy which at times may require marlex mesh.
