This videotape depicts the painless injection of a solution with lidocaine for rapid onset of anesthesia, hemostasis, and relaxation of the anorectal ring. Little or no sedation is necessary. Experience is reflected from its use for excision of hemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas, and perineal repair in the jack-knife position used in the office or hospital since 1956.
