On 12/9/02 we replaced the mitral valve in a 63 year old female on dialysis using a #25 Carpentier-Edwards porcine valve & the daVinci robotic system. Robotic guidance allowed precise valve resection & secure adherence of the valve to the annulus. The patient did well postoperatively with no significant pathology on echocardiography.
