This video details the cannulation techniques, incision, methods of retraction and mitral valve replacement using the superior septal approach. The method of closure is also emphasized. This approach has provided excellent valve exposure, specifically in a pa-tient with a small left atrium. The exposure has become our pre-ferred method for mitral valve repair and replacement.
