Lung reduction surgery or reduction pneumonoplasty is becoming an accepted procedure for selected patients with emphysema. This video depicts the video-assisted thoracic surgical approach to this disease. Both lungs are operated upon and a combination of resection and laser plication of the diseased areas is employed.
