A left congenital diaphragmatic hernia presents in a sixteen year old as recurrent episodes of incarceration of the colon. Repair of the diaphragmatic hernia is accomplished using video-assisted tho-racoscopic surgery (VATS). The salient anatomic features of a Bochdalek hernia are presented on this videotape.
