A laparoscopic approach for pericardial drainage is made through the bulging central tendon of the diaphragm fused with the pericardium adjacent to the falciform ligament and above the left lobe of the liver. This transdiaphragmatic procedure is accomplished rap-idly and safely with adequate tissue for pathological diagnosis and negligible postoperative pain.
