Dorsal sympathectomy is indicated for upper limit causalgia, hyperhidrosis and occasionally for vasospastic disorders. This video demonstrates the technique of thoracoscopic transthoracic dorsal sympathectomy utilizing the instruments developed for laparoscopic abdominal surgery. This video also demonstrates the patient positioning and surgeon orientation, and includes the actual surgical technique performed using the video camera image.
