The availability of sophisticated video equipment and development of surgical instruments specifically designed for thoracoscopic use has made many intrathoracic procedures minimally invasive. The use of the percutaneous needle localization technique applied to intraparenchymal lesions has allowed the authors to perform wedge resections for pulmonary nodules that would otherwise not be visualized by usual thoracoscopic methods.
