A novel operation is described which achieves reconstruction and solid cardiac protection along with complete repair of the large epigastric defect in children with Cantrell's deformity of the anterior torso. Two such children were repaired with excellent cosmetic and anatomic results and without need for foreign/prosthetic materials.
