Without correction, origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is fatal within the first year of life in some 90% of patients. Only rarely does survival extend to adulthood. Among our 37 patients, however, two have reached the astonishing ages of 57 and 61. In one patient, the coronaries were huge, the right being 19 mm. and the left 23 mm. This is the oldest patient with this lesion in the world literature, and the size of the coronary arteries is the greatest ever reported. Both patients are alive and well, following surgical correction.
