Successful correction of ectopia cordis has been rare. Surgical correction of the thoracic type is shown in a newborn. The heart is placed within the mediastinum and covered with a polytetrafluorethylene membrane and skin. Because of left phrenic nerve injury, diaphragmatic plication is shown 32 days later.
