Posterior truncal vagotomy and anterior seromyotomy for uncomplicated or perforated chronic duodenal ulcer is feasible by laparoscopy. The right vagus nerve is divided, seromyotomy is performed along the lesser curvature and then glue or sutures are applied. In case of perforation, ulcer closure and irrigation are performed first. A prospective multicenter evaluation is underway.
