The gastric specimen is used for gentle traction to facilitate the gastrojejunal anastomosis which is accomplished along the greater curvature of the GIA anastomosing instrument, proximal to the elected line of gastric transection. The TA-90 instrument is then placed transversely, closing jejunum to gastric wall laterally and posterior to anterior gastric walls medially. The specimen is then resected as the best step.
